Oasis of Calm

The Oasis is normally a place of calm and retreat where people look at the waterfall and into the deep water and rest a while. On the rocks, the swifts explore the cracks for insects, and the rock hyrax sunbathe on the ledges. The water looks so inviting you could be tempted to go in for a swim.

Not such a good idea at the moment as there is a new family that have moved in and they're making quite a splash. There's seven of them in total including a big male.

Notoriously dangerous, no one would want to argue with this hippo! No sundowners here in the evenings!

The hippo are thought to have moved out of the shallow end of Kiboko Dam due to the water going down. This has resulted in more conflict between the hippo families - someone had to move out.
