Well-spotted 9

It has been a fantastic week for spotting animals at Loisaba and therefore well-spotted comes to you in two parts, starting with Jo and her cubs.

Years ago, in 2009, when leopards were fewer and more shy, it was extremely rare to catch sight of one. At that time the lodge even used a baited hide to increase the chances of seeing one. Nowadays, guests are much more likely to come across a leopard thanks to the skills of the guides but also to the 'friendliness' of Jo, the leopard. In the past her cubs have melted into their own territories, and it remains to be seen whether these two will love the camera as much as they do now.

Size-wise it is starting to be difficult to tell the cubs apart from their mother but the cubs have narrower, triangular shaped heads, and their noses are pinker.

Jo has 'David Bowie' eyes - one blue and one green.

However, has this young cub inherited her eyes...?

Yesterday, Mohamed saw them twice in one day - in the evening they were down by the Loisaba Star Beds at Kiboko Dam
