When Narok was sadly killed by a male lion a few months ago and the whole pride went missing, the fear was that some of the other lionesses and definitely the cubs would have suffered the same fate. Male lions often kill cubs in order to bring the female lions into season and so that any subsequent cubs will carry their genes. It was odd that the male lion responsible for the attack on Narok did not stay around, suggesting that it was just a chance encounter rather than an attempt to take over the pride. The really good news is that the pride has now been seen with all of the cubs which are growing up fast and beginning to take on the different characteristics of male and female lions themselves. Wildlife Guides, Mohamed and Moses had a wonderful encounter with the pride which lasted into the evening. Here are the pictures and videos that they took.

We are so fortunate to have two thriving prides of female lions here at Loisaba as well as the various coalitions of males. Mohamed recorded the first four clips, and Moses the last.
