Well-spotted 2
One of the outstanding features of Loisaba is that within minutes of leaving headquarters or the camp one is surrounded by a complete wilderness. Here are some of the animals that have been seen recently by members of staff.

The leucistic zebra was born in Loisaba in 2018. Tom and his team wondered how she would survive being such a different colour to her relatives; would she be killed more easily because she stood out? Was she also at more risk from the sun as a result of her pale colouring? Her mother seemed to be even extremely protective towards her as if she knew she was different. In time the herd migrated to the top of the Maabarti Cliffs and towards the boundary so she was seen less often. It was a great relief when she was spotted and so clearly thriving. Leucism is caused by a genetic mutation which results in reduced pigmentation in the skin and hair.
