We need to talk about Kevin

Kevin – Odhiambo – works in the workshop at Loisaba as a welder where he has earned the nickname One Man Army!

He hails from Nyanza Province where farming and fishing are appreciated. He credits his parents for the sacrifices they made and their hard work, selling their surplus produce, which enabled him to get a good quality education.

Originally he trained as a stone mason, which he hated. He opted instead to take up welding and fabrication, something that would utilise his skill and artistry. At Loisaba he has been able to use some of the latest technology, and as well as welding for vehicles, he fabricates other useful items such as lamp stands, staircases, and the frames for camel saddles.

As a Maasai himself, he loves the culture and lifestyle of the Maasai. He enjoys listening to traditional Ohlanga music such as Osogo Winyo and the gospel music of Rose Muhando

Like almost everyone at Loisaba, he is a football fan and supports Chelsea.
