Victoria-ous!

Since the beginning of the pandemic, and the arrival of the Felix Coalition, the Victoria Pride have not been seen together nor seen very often. This morning Mohamed was thrilled to see them back together again. It was obvious that Victoria is lactating and therefore there are cubs somewhere around.

This pride tends to live on the plains side of Loisaba where there is a vast space for them to become hidden by shrubs.

Later in the day, Peter Ekidor and John Ekaran came across the pride with their cubs.

In 2019, Victoria was badly injured and had to be attended to by a vet from the Kenyan Wildlife Service - after the treatment she was very groggy, and as she limped away from the crew it wasn't known whether she would make it.

Happily, just a week later she was seen with her family looking altogether brighter.

At that time too she had cubs...

And with that...I think we have found a new star worthy of being Narok's successor...
